At the Reading Academy of Wing Chun & Kali, we host Wing Chun Kung Fu and Kali Eskrima workshops at periodic intervals.

All the workshops are open to everyone regardless of experience or lineage.

Beginners and non-members are welcome.

The workshops are a great opportunity for everyone, member or non-member, to meet and train with Lucas and his students of the Reading School (Kwoon) ranging from senior students who started the system with Lucas back in 1995 right through to new comers and good beginners.

Due to the limited space, bookings for any of the workshops are required long in advance.

The workshop fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable.

Wing Chun Kuen is one of the most sophisticated systems of Kung Fu originating from the Shaolin Temple of China where body mechanics are used with efficiency.

It is an outstanding art of health and fitness which teaches you how to deal with stress and fear, protect and improve your self potential, and defuse violence. Wing Chun Kuen is not only a form of unarmed combat but is a scientific system of Chinese kung fu. Through Wing Chun a practitioner develops mental and physical improvements, better body structure, greater fitness, a keen sense of awareness, improved timing, and increased precision and control over one's movements.

The Filipino martial art, Kali Eskrima, is a complete fighting system and it is unique in that, unlike other oriental martial arts, students learn how to control and deal with sticks/weapons first before moving on to the empty hands training and techniques and it is suitable for every one over 16 years old.

Wing Chun and Kali students will gain from this training session. Do not miss out!
Friday sessions are open to non-members.

July 2008

6th Annual Summer Workshop

Three-day intensive workshop between 4th July and 6th July.
Will take place at the Reading School (Kwoon) each day 11am - 3pm and 5pm - 8pm. Weather permitting, the workshop will take place outdoors by the wonderful location along the Caversham River.
The first two days of the workshop will be based on all three empty hands forms and the wing chun boxing drills. The last day will be based on the long pole form and its empty hands applications. The workshop will close with a chi-sao session.
This year we will have also Franco Regalzi with his most seniors students at our workshop! Do not miss it!
Sunday night everyone is welcome to attend dinner/party at the restaurant.

WING CHUN KUNG FU 2-Day Seminar/Workshop in USA

Two-day intensive workshop/seminar with Sifu Lucas Castrounis in the USA, 6th - 7th September.
Will take place at the Modern Martial Arts Institute each day 11am - 5pm.
Members: $125 per person. Non-members: $150 per person.
Location: Modern Martial Arts Institute, 3221 Highway 52 W, Suite D, Pelham, SL 35134
The seminar will be based on the first form of the system, how to deal with fear / stress, and Chi-Sao (stick hands) and improvisations. The seminar/workshop is open to everyone, regardless of experience - beginners are welcome.
